Anika and Jake
About Anika and Jake:
Anika and Jake love nature and say that the oak tree is a fitting symbol of their relationship. The Dakota Lodge in Thompson County Park was a perfect spot for their ceremony. The outdoor aisle was lined with giant sunflower arrangements that led them to a huge oak tree where they exchanged their vows.
Jake showed off his design skills by creating a logo and graphic identity for their wedding. Their invitations, wedding website, programs, name cards, table numbers, etc were designed with the oak tree in mind. I can't help but drool over the type treatment on the logo!
During the reception Anika's dad told a particularly moving speech in which he unveiled a surprise. Sitting on the banquet table was a substantial mound covered with a white cloth. During the speech he pulled off the cloth revealing a flawless carved punch bowl with long-necked swans swooping out of each end. Anika's mother and brother filled it with sparking wine and her whole family led a toast to the new couple! The look on Anika's face was priceless.
